My Story

Tim 'Pops' Frisby: Columbia, SC; One of the most inspirational stories in college football history. In 2004, at the age of 39, he walked-on and made the team of legendary HOF football coach Lou Holtz at the University of South Carolina. He duplicated this feat in 2005 for "The Head Ball Coach", Steve Spurrier. Tim is a former Airborne/Rangert qualified member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from the Army in 2004. In 2005, at 40-years-old, Frisby became the oldest player in FBS college football history to play and make a catch in a football game. Tim has appeared on The Late Show w/ David Letterman, The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno, ESPN Gameday, NBC's Today Show, Good Morning America, Live with Regis & Kelly and ABC's Evening News. Print includes the NY Times, LA Times, and Sports Illustrated. Frisby is the recipient of a pair of prestigious NCAA college football honors, earning the inaugural ABC College Football Keith Jackson Award for Excellence and the NCAA Football Walt Disney Wide-World of Sports Spirit Award, given annually to college football's most inspirational student-athlete. Tim graduated with honors from USC in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a major in Public Relations.
